Rev. Ted Day

After Annual Conference the Bishop appointed the Rev. Theodore E. Day as the new pastor for Ebenezer. Pastor Day has been an Elder in the United Methodist Church for 22 years, although his first pastorate was at Augsburg Lutheran Church in Baltimore. He subsequently served in Miami, FL, Princess Anne, MD, Peninsula-McCabe UMC, Grace UMC in Salisbury, and most recently as Pastor for five years at Peniel UMC in Newport .
Pastor Day was born in Belize, Central America; graduated from the University of the West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica; he earned his Masters of Divinity at Howard University School of Religion, Washington, DC; and he did postgraduate studies at Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, PA. He and his wife Jackie have 4 children: Veronica (at home), Eric, Nicole, and Patrick, and one grandson, Isaiah (5).
Ebenezer warmly received Pastor Day and Jackie on their first Sunday, July 15, with a reception to welcome them.

Kerry W. Dietz
Director of Music Ministries

Kerry W. Dietz began his formal music training at the age of
seven and his church music career at the age of fourteen. A graduate
of the University of Delaware and Westminster Choir College, he
studied organ with Lee Dettra and Eugene Roan, respectively, and
in Paris, France with Jean Langlais. He was the 1979 winner of
the Delaware Chapter American Guild of Organists' Young Organist
Competition and the 1980 winner of the Eastern Regional Music
Teachers National Association Competition. Recital venues have
included Longwood Gardens and Paris, France. Mr. Dietz served
as organist and then Director of Music Ministry at St. Paul's
United Methodist Church in Wilmington, De for 12 years. He also
worked four years for the Allen Organ Company at the International
Sales Headquarters in Macungie, PA. He presently serves as Director
of Music Ministries at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Newark,
DE.
