Preschool Mission Statement
The church, as an institution of the Christian religion, is concerned
about the well being of each individual and society as a whole.
The church recognizes that education is important for the development
of each individual, therefore, the church operates a preschool as
a ministry to children and their families.
At the preschool level, the child has experience with family and
with those outside the home. Our purpose is to provide the preschool
child with a loving environment that guides his/her physical, mental,
emotional, and social growth.
It is our intent that our preschool education will help children
become comfortable with and aware of themselves and others; and
will learn skills, ideas and beliefs that will promote personal
development and a sense of useful interaction with others. We prepare
the child for further learning experiences and for entrance into
kindergarten. We welcome children of all faiths while teaching Christian
ideals in a positive attitude towards others.
The child will grow in the awareness of GOD and the LOVE of JESUS
through stories, songs, little prayers, and holidays. The teachers'
CHRISTIAN ATTITUDES help the child learn to LOVE and help him/her
feel that he/she is loved. This will help the child to grow spiritually.

*New* We now offer a "Stay Day" program where children
bring their lunches, work on a craft and stay and play with their friends.
This is offered two days each week Wednesday and Thursday.
Preschool Hours:
All classes meet from 9:00 A.M to 11:30 A.M.
Curriculum
The curriculum is designed for three and four year-old children, keeping
in mind the growing needs of the individual child. Our activities include:
organized and directed play, introduction to music (with body movements
and rhythm activities), crafts, carefully chosen stories and rest periods.
We also welcome parental participation in class for special activities
(i.e., aerobics, computer exposure, field trips, parties, celebration
of holidays, ect.)
3 year old:
We seek to develop the three year-old's social skills, language skill,
small and large motor skills and his/her awareness of the five senses.
For many children, this is a period of transition between mother and the
outside world. To expand their social growth, very basic rules for relating
to others in the group are stressed, such as: learning names of classmates,
safety habits and learning daily classroom routine. Because of their limited
attention span, the theme for the month centers around one or two shapes
and concepts and, whenever possible, is linked to a particular holiday.
4 year old:
Activities for the four year-old child are geared toward skills necessary
for entrance into kindergarten. Concepts and themes touched upon in three
year-old classes are reinforced and expanded. Dauly routine in the classroom
is stressed by allowing children to share various responsibilities from
day to day (such as ringing the "opening" bell, holding the
flag during the pledge, etc.) Language skill, small and large motor skills
and awareness of things around them are greatly increasing and therefore
lessons are structured to encourage sharpening of these skills. Experiences
for the child can come in many ways and in any subject through displays
that can touch or exploration walks outside or through field trips.
CLASS SIZES
Our are limited with the four year-old class teacher/student ratio goal
of 9 to 1 while the three year-old class has a goal of 6 to 1.
DISCIPLINE AND GUDANCE
We use praise, rewards and encouragement in ways that are appropriate
to the age of the child. Through positive reinforcement, we try to encourage
self-control, self-direction, self-esteem and cooperation
