Where are they now?

When the 175th anniversary celebration was planned, all living past ministers, associate ministers and their wives were invited.  We received letter from several of those ministers.  A copy of those letters will follow this section.
The following is a brief description of some of those past ministers, living and dead, from the 1940's to the present.

George Goodley ---  Served Ebenezer from 1941 to 1942.  He returned as Visitation Minister from 1977 to 1997.  He was Pastor Emeritus from 1987 until his death in 1999.
Charles C. Davis --- Served Ebenezer from 1961-1966.  He is married to Connie, have two married sons Drew and Jonathan., and four grandchildren.  He is currently the organist at Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, DE.
Robert W. Helms ---  Ministered Ebenezer from 1966-1978.  He died at home on February 4, 1997.  He is survived by his wife Florence, son Scott and daughter Sherrill, both of whom are married.  Rev. Helms was a pastor for 40 years.  He was instrumental in the building of the new sanctuary at Ebenezer.  He holds the record of 12 years at Ebenezer.  From Ebenezer, Rev. Helms went on to serve at Peninsula McCabe, Atonement, Christ Church-Roselle, and Immanuel and Friendship Churches in Townsend, before retiring in 1996.  Their son Scott lives in Chester, PA and daughter Sherrill Mullenix lives in Silview.
William Dore ---  Served Ebenezer from 1978-1986.  He is currently serving the North East-West Cecil Charge at Zion and Rosebank United Methodist Churches.  He is married to Ruth and they have two married daughters Ruthy and Kathy. He and Ruth have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Rev. Dore said, "On the occasion of EUMC's 175th anniversary, we cannot overlook the fact that it is our 50th anniversary."
Raymond T. Hopkins, III --- Associate pastor from 1981-1984.  Unable to attend the 175th anniversary, he sent his regrets and the following comment, "Bill Dore, the late George Goodley and I enjoyed each other's company and working together to build Christ's church in Pike Creek Valley."
